Week 1 of class?

Good news-- the iPod now works. I plugged it into a power source and that thankfully solved the problem.

And what am I doing to celebrate? Buying a season pass to "The Office" for season 3, as we have no access to watching it here except via internet. In case you didn't know, thanks to Monica Milburn, I became a fan of the show over my time spent in Dallas. Today we finished watching Season 3 and are dying to know what happens next...hence why I splurged and procured the "season pass".

Anyway, time for updates and photos!

Tuesday: Tried to get Globe tix but it was sold out. So we, being Bethany and I, walked around the Thames path (stopping at the Clink Museum) and walked all the way over the bridge.Since my watch died, I had to buy a new one sadly. From the Swatch kiosk at King's Cross. Fifty bucks. Then we saw "snow cake" at the cinema and it was quite good! Alan Rickman (aka Snape from the HP movies) is amazing.

Wednesday: ran in the morning, which was nice. Good way to see the neighborhood. Went to theatre class and am so excited about that! Of course, we played a crazy name game, so now I know everyone's name in that class now...but yeah, I'm excited about it-- we're seeing some awesome plays! And a couple of musicals, mainly "Guys and Dolls". Plus L Met is giving us free tickets to see "Spamalot". hehe.

After class, I came home and had veggie kebobs for dinner from the store across the street, then went out to "the enterprise" with bethany's parents' friends which was nice. Around 11 I was insanely tired so I came home early as I had class in the morning.

Thursday (today): Got up and went to my creative writing class. It's nice since they're mostly actual students at the university as opposed to all study abroad students. Then Bethany and I had Management-- it'll be boring but (hopefully) not too stressful. Came home in the dreary weather. Emily came home and then Diane came over and we got slightly shady Thai food for dinner....now the roommates and I are at the Peterson's house for internet. Hence the Office downloading.

Tomorrow I finaly have my internship meeting!!

Arrrgh

Normally I'd wait to update this until AFTER my first class (it starts in half an hour), but I'd like to take this time to point out that everything essential has decided to break down. Mainly, my fossil watch (battery died and fossil isn't over here), and NOW, my new iPod has frozen solid! don't know why! When I get back to the flat I'll plug it in and see what happens but I was definitely sad that I couldn't listen to the new John Mayer whilst riding the tube to class. Oh well.

The Original Ribena

So what I have been up to lately? Well let's see-- Thursday I got some school stuff done, aka changed my marketing class to a management class, then I FINALLY got a mobile. So if anyone wants my number, shoot me an email. please. after that, we met up with Diannekins and got dinner at a pub! Then I went with her and met up with her parents/grandparents (who were on my plane over, did I mention that?) and had dessert. That was good. Went back home and finally went to bed.

Friday the three of us went out and found the fruit market off oxford street and got lots of food for less denaro. Mmm fruit. We hung out at Caffe Nero awhile and I had this "Milano Hot Chocolate" that was really a bunch of chocolate bars melted....so basically it was quite amazing.

After that I met Diane at Leichster Scquare and we got dinner in Chinatown, ate some dessert (I know, I'm bad) back at the Square, then met her family to see MARY POPPINS.

Oh my goodness, it was so so so good. Seriously. And be happy, it's opening on Broadway next month so everyone can go see it very soon. I can't even describe it-- I guess I could say it's a wonderful mix between the movie and the books. It's that good. And yes Mom, I did get you something from it.

What else? Oh yeah, that morning I had a brief meeting with the Lmet lady about the internship, so it looks like next week I'll meet Mike from Nettwerk and hopefully start interning soon. Apparently most interns do about 1-1.5 days of interning a week-- considering I only have to go to class 2 days a week now, it looks like I might have alot of time to get homework/run around town. Which will be nice-- it's kind of stressful getting acquainted in a new city, so it helps that there's not much of an academic stress.

Saturday was pretty good. The three of us actually took part in a "school" activity by taking the free boat to Greenwich for the day! It was pretty nifty, we hung out with some Lithuanians we met that also go to our university, as well as some guy from Pennsylvania. The trip was beautiful and I highly recommend everyone to take a boat cruise if you ever visit London, just because the views are magnificant.

In Greenwich we basically explored the Maritime Museum, hiked up the hill to watch the ball thingy drop, and then got traditional pies (cornish pasty in my case) for lunch. Quite quite tasty. Wandered around a market and acquired some very sugary things-- such as dark chocolate covered ginger. Oh yeeeeah.

We finally headed home as we were exhausted, and basically hung around. Wnet to a pub with one of our neighbors, who was quite nice.

Anyway, so today is just blustery, but I did go running a bit, some of it with Diane! Now bethany and I are on holloway road near school in some random cafe that is
playing some sort of mexican music or what not...except this isn't a mexican restaurant.

Classes start this week, and hopefully I'll begin the internship soon! Hope everyone's well.
